Live What You Love |
Advice from a girl with only the qualifications of trial, error, achievement and experience in living healthier and happier. I don't know everything, I'm constantly learning and open to suggestions, but I helped myself and want to pass on all the assistance I can. Health, happiness and honouring yourself in the form of clean eating, fitness and a beautiful soul. |
There’s little pieces of a puzzle scattered,
Dropped and trodden on,
The corners lost or bent,
And it’s built to fit the shape
Of all the parts of me I lost in you.

Making my way in baby steps. Nowhere near my final goal but this is the happiest I’ve been with my body in the longest of times.
Amaze.
For extra protein, which you should be eating at breakfast, boil 2-4 eggs and eat only the egg whites, or make a 2 egg white omlette.
I have decided that 2012 will be the year I become a vego. It’s been brought on by watching the documentary Food Inc a few times. I don’t want to eat meat that is grown, bred and slaughtered in incredibly unethical ways. I also don’t want to eat meat that is pumped full of hormones and other nasties. Don’t get me wrong, I love the stuff and believe in the natural food chain. But the meat industry isn’t natural anymore. It’s no longer about food and sustenance, but business. And these animals are not, and were never, okay.
Given my current attempt to lose body fat and gain muscle I’ve had to look for new food sources of protein other than meat. Organic tofu, beans, lentils and free range eggs, as well as some leafy green vegetables should do the trick. Oatmeal also contains some protein and I’ll be adding protein powder to that in the mornings and drinking one protein shake, made from whey protein isolate and water, a day. Occasionally I have decided I will eat ethically farmed fish, so as to keep me from getting sick.
It’s a trial, here goes!

Wellness isn’t about deprivation and it’s not about perfection.
It is about pointing yourself in the direction of growth, training yourself to get comfortable with your highest potential, and then taking small steps to support that shift.
It’s about showing up for yourself, day by day and then one day finding that you’ve undergone a transformation.

Pampering yourself is possibly one of the greatest things about being alive. Pull your hair back, wash off your make up, steam open your pores and delve into these delicious facial goodies.
You are. Now, say it to yourself.

Balance the amount of crying and laughing you do in your life. Both are as healing as each other.
